System of Linear Equations by MathBug

Consistent – a system of equations with at least 1 solution(Graphs meet at 1 point or are on same line)

Consistent can be Independent – with exactly 1 solution OR

Dependent – with infinite number of solutions

Inconsistent – No Solution

For slope-intercept form equations, y=mx+b, with slope m and y intercept b,

different slopes –  exactly 1 solution

same slope but different y intercept – no solution(parallel)

same slope and same y intercept – infinite solutions
